Alignment Based Vinyasa
We will tap into a moving meditation with a flowing approach to the sequence, but with a focus on alignment with longer holds to explore postures.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork before warming up the body by starting to activate, mobilise & lengthen. We build the flow based on a theme or peak pose, before finishing with stretches & tissue release to cool down ready for a conscious rest in Savasana.
Hatha
A more traditional Hatha practice, where we take the time to explore our alignment, modifications, & options to find the intention behind each pose in our bodies. As we move slower we can really get to sink into our poses, build strength & take the time to advance our practice.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork before warming up the body by starting to activate, mobilise & lengthen. Based on a theme or peak pose, we build up our poses to progressively challenge our bodies & minds, before we then wind down with stretches & tissue release ready for a conscious rest in Savasana.
Strength and Flexibility Flow
This is a form of our classic Alignment Based Vinyasa class, with added creativity & exploration.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork before warming up the body by starting to activate, mobilise & lengthen. We build the flow based on a theme or peak pose, before finishing with stretches & tissue release to cool down ready for a conscious rest in Savasana.
Power Flow
Our strongest class. We will focus on building strength in a more targeted way, bringing in elements of practices such as Pilates, Primal Movement, and even some classic HIIT movements to our Yoga practice.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork before warming up the body by starting to activate, mobilise & lengthen. We build a playful flow based on a theme or peak pose, before finishing with stretches & tissue release to cool down ready for a conscious rest in Savasana.
You don’t need to be a pro to join these classes, just come ready to challenge yourself!
Restorative Hatha
A slower paced class where we incorporate breathwork, yoga poses, mobility movements, fascial release, postural alignment, controlled supported targeted strength building, & our conscious rest in Savasana.
With time for you to find your modifications & adjustments, to find what works in your body in this moment.
Aimed at those coming back to exercise or yoga after an injury or time away, or for those whose bodies or minds are seeking to reset and restore.
Nurturing Flow
A slower gentler flow class, with poses, movements, and tissue release to leave you feeling nurtured.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork before slowly warming up the body by starting to activate, mobilise & lengthen. We build this gentler flow based on a theme or peak pose, before moving onto longer held stretches & tissue release to wind down ready for a conscious rest in Savasana.
Great for those coming back to exercise or yoga after an injury or time away, or those whose bodies or minds are in need of nurturing.
Hot Yoga
The class will either follow a Hatha or Flow format.
If you’re new to Hot Yoga, then Hot Hatha is a great way to experience Hot Yoga before starting the Hot Flow classes.
The room is heated to a peak of 34-38 degrees, with added humidity & air flow, and using an infrared heating system.
These Hot Yoga classes are only offered at Yard Yoga, see Class Schedule above.
Release & Reset
A specialised class where we focus on tissue release & postural alignment. It’s about releasing tension patterns in our bodies that restrict us in daily life, & that hold us back uplevelling our sporting performance. And when we can release those tension patterns, we can train our bodies back into their optimum postural alignment, to not only prevent injury, aches & pains, but also enable us to perform better.

Yin Yoga
This is the perfect practice to balance out our active Yang lifestyles and active Yang forms of Yoga.
Class starts with grounding & breathwork, before we mobilise and use our therapy balls to start to release into our tissues; a little self massage. We then sink into our Yin poses, where we predominately work from the floor, with long supported holds & using the breath to release.
Yin classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes to allow extra time for a longer conscious rest in Savasana with a guided meditation. You’ll be all set for a great night’s sleep.
“We are all unique with our own challenges, needs and desires. Somedays we need a restful practice with gentler movement to eek out tension, other days we need a faster stronger practice, to really tap into a moving meditation & feel how capable our bodies are (whatever level we’re at). ”
